Aseem joined Madrona in 2021. As a member of the investment team, Aseem identifies and evaluates new investment opportunities and works closely with existing companies on business and product strategies for hypergrowth.
Aseem scales businesses and is a seasoned operator. Prior to Madrona, Aseem spent over 17 years at Microsoft, working in a wide variety of roles, from developer writing deep install-level code to building and creating business models for Office 365. Aseem also owns global sales experience, led SaaS and hardware growth. companies, and was most recently the GM/COO for Microsoft Cloud. At Azure, he led growth and scale initiatives that grew the company from early days to over $20 billion ARR. Aseem brings deep experience in building cutting-edge services and platforms and bringing them to market. His background in cloud, AI/ML, SaaS, commerce and payments, devices and operating system means he is interested in a wide range of start-ups. At Microsoft, Aseem was also active with small businesses, establishing a small investment fund and acting as an advisor to early-stage companies.
Aseem holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. He was also a research fellow in the applied physics laboratory before obtaining an MBA from the University of Washington. At Microsoft, he also continued his executive education at Harvard Business School.
Awards and Recognition
He is a Seattle 40 under 40 Honoree and published a thesis on electronic commerce for the IEEE. Aseem is also the recipient of the coveted Microsoft CMO award for leading growth in emerging markets for both devices and SaaS and has worked to pass legislation in Washington State regarding customer assistance programs. students.
Among other things, he is an avid cricket and sports fan with a zeal for bringing groundbreaking technology to life. In addition to being a founding member of an investment fund in the Pacific Northwest, he is an advisor to various technology companies and incubation funds.
