The founder of Atrangii TV, Vibhu Agarwal, has now ventured into live sports streaming. Earlier this year, Agarwal launched a new Hindi GEC Atrangii TV followed by the launch of Atrangii, the new OTT. the company under his direction. The company kicked off its foray into cricket with the UAE tour of Bangladesh 2022 with two T20 matches. This was followed by the thrilling Tanzania Cricket Premier League 2022.
Another T10 league is next on the schedule which will be played in India in the month of December. The live stream of the matches will be available on the Atrangii app and many other famous platforms, YouTube channels and FB pages of the platforms. The company plans to increase its sports offering by adding Kabbadi leagues from across the country in the coming months.
The company’s decision to enter the sport stems from research conducted with its target audience, which is comprised primarily of males in the 15+ segment. The company aims to be the one-stop entertainment destination for its viewers, with sports being next on the agenda.
Speaking about its foray into live sports streaming, Vibhu Agarwal, Founder and CEO of Atrangii TV and ULLU App shared, “After Atrangii TV, Atrangii App and ULLU 99 merchandising platform, we are delighted to now bring the sport to the screens of our viewers. While cricket still dominates the sporting world in India, the country’s performance in international games has contributed to the rise of this sector. There is a demand now for Kho-Kho, Kabbadi and badminton tournaments among others. A deeper understanding of our target audience made us realize that there was a void we could fill that brought the sport together under the same platform. Our OTT platforms, Atrangii app and ULLU app will simultaneously broadcast these events, making it even more convenient for viewers to indulge in the entertainment of their choice. These will be the cricket, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho badminton championships and leagues that take place in Asia and the MENA region, which may or may not have participation from India, but are enjoyed by sports fans. This is another step forward in our vision.”
