
Two Midlands paper companies have joined forces to create a new business.
Birmingham-based Northwood Consumer and Grantham-based Consuma Paper Products have joined forces to create a retail-focused entity.
Northwood Consumer, which is the retail arm of Shropshire’s parent company Northwood Group, and Consuma will manufacture a range of rolled and folded paper products.
As part of this transaction, Northwood shareholders have acquired a significant share of Consuma and the businesses will continue to operate from their current respective premises.
Northwood have been a paper supplier to Consuma for over 20 years, supplying both new and recycled products from their own UK mills and from global supply partners.

More recently, the partnership has evolved further with Northwood’s UK mills making recycled paper for some of Consuma’s retail customers, enabling them to reduce their carbon footprint.
Northwood Group Chairman Paul Fecher said: “We are delighted to join forces and expand our retail product range across the entire toilet tissue, towel, face and skin care industry. pocket squares in all sizes.
