FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The annual Operation Christmas Joy is underway in Franklin County.
The program is a joint venture between the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office as well as churches, civic organizations, businesses, and individuals who want to help families in need of joy during the holiday season.
“This event is very near and dear to all of our hearts at the office. It’s part of our community outreach mission to reach out and give back to others. Both in the community and within our organization, we collect donations, non-perishable food and toys to help families.
Sheriff Bill Overton
Currently, advocacy is directed to any church, civic group – anyone interested in helping, contact MP HL Nolan by clicking here.
Once the sheriff’s office has donations, another organization will select which families will be beneficiaries of the program.
