NEW YORK, Aug 15, 2018 / PRNewswire / – Legends and JMI Sports today announced the appointment of Theodore Loehrke as chairman of their newly formed joint venture company, which will collaborate with the University of Notre-Dame in promoting its athletic programs.
Thanks to an exclusive 12-year agreement with the University of Notre-Dame, Legends and JMI Sports have formed a joint venture to oversee that of Notre-Dame athletics sales, marketing, sponsorship, hospitality, multimedia rights and branding services at local and national level. It will also include that of Notre-Dame National football radio rights, which previously was a stand-alone agreement for many years.
In this role, Loehrke will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and support of the property and all functions of JV employees. He will also focus with his team on building integrated national corporate partnerships that align with the University’s strong mission and values.
Mr. Loehrke joined us after more than a decade in professional sport where he held various roles in the league and the team. Most recently, Loehrke served as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development at Milwaukee Bucks and was responsible for driving key strategic initiatives regarding facilities and new business development. Most notably, Loehrke helped lead the development and revenue strategy for the Bucks’ new world-class arena, which will open for the 2018-19 NBA season, the Fiserv Forum. Loehrke initially joined the Bucks in 2012 as a senior vice president, chief revenue officer.
Before the Bucks, Loehrke worked in the NBA in new York as Senior Vice President in the Team Marketing and League Business Operations group. He has advised the NBA and NBA G League teams on all aspects of business operations including ticket sales, sponsorship development, customer retention, digital / social media, marketing and business analysis. Prior to the NBA, Loehrke held various consulting, marketing and strategy positions at companies such as Deloitte Consulting and American Family Insurance Group. Mr. Loehrke holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from our Lady and an MBA from duke university in Strategy and Operations.
Loehrke is an active member of the community and a strong advocate for the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). He serves on the advisory board of the Wisconsin chapter of Best Buddies International, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for one-on-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with DID.
